-
When an additional position is established, the system automatically provides this data element.
-
Changes to birth date, whether due to clerical error or misinformation supplied by the employee, must be processed on the EAR.
-
The retirement system may require an affidavit or other certification of correctness from the employee. Once the CalPERS submits a form to the SCO to process a birth date change (R02), the system prohibits further processing of birth date changes on the EAR (E07). When a R02 transaction is reflected on EAR history and the employee wants to change his/her birth date, contact CalPERS for assistance.
-
For newly hired employees over the age of 85 years, the PPT and EAR documents will need to be submitted to the SCO via secure fax or mail for processing. An error message will occur if campuses try to key it manually.
