The definition of full-time is determined by the bargaining agreement or CSU policy for the respective classification code.
-
When processing a Transaction 405 to increase the employee's time base in the position, or if the employee's total time base is increasing because of an appointment to an additional position:
-
Review the retirement code in Item 505.
-
Determine if the new time base value, in combination with other CalPERS eligibility criteria, requires that the employee be placed in CalPERS membership.
-
If CalPERS membership is a requirement, enter the appropriate code in Item 505, or process a Transaction 505.
