Log on/ Log Off

Logging On

CIRS is available from 6:00 am to 7:00 pm Monday through Saturday, unless otherwise specified for an individual user. Before beginning the logon process, you must have your equipment set up, along with a user ID and password.   

 

To begin, start your emulation session (e.g., click on the desktop icon). If you need assistance with this step, contact your campus IT support.

 

1. After opening your emulation session, the first screen you will see is illustrated below. It indicates your terminal id (termid) and gives a prompt.  Follow the screen instructions - type a P and press enter.

2. At the TEALE MENU, press the PF6 key to access SCO SYSTEMS.

3. Next you will receive the SCO MENU screen.  Press the PF9 key to access the MULTSESS screen.

4. At the MULTSESS screen, press the enter key.  Do not make any selections or fill-in any fields on the MULTSESS screen.

5. The SCO MENU will display again, but without the PF9 key.  From this menu, press the PF2 key to access the TSO3 APPLICATION.

6. After selecting the TS03 application, you will be prompted for your userid.  Type your userid and press the enter key to receive the TSO/E LOGON screen.

7. At the TSO/E LOGON screen, type your password (the password will not display as you are typing) and press the enter key.

You may request specific help information by entering a ’?’ in any entry field.​

  • After you enter the eight character password, the cursor will jump to the ’New Password’ position after it is typed.  DO NOT enter a new password unless the system prompts you for a new password by displaying a message at the top of the screen.
  • ​If your password has expired, you will be prompted to supply a new password.  Type the new password and press the enter key.  You will be prompted a second time to enter the new password for verification.​

When you have successfully logged on to CIRS, you will receive a screen that displays the last date and time you accessed the system along with the current date and time.  Messages for specific campuses and all users appear below the logon dates and times. 

 

8. To proceed, press enter.

After clearing the CIRS message board, you will receive a screen that displays your default printer information.  


9. Press the enter key to clear the printer information and to receive the CIRS main menu.

Logging Off 

To exit CIRS, press the F3 key until the PRIMARY OPTION MENU is displayed.  From that screen, type X as the desired service and press enter to exit CIRS.​

    • If you did not intend to log off, type 1 as the desired service and press enter to return to the main menu.  
    • When exiting CIRS, the following message may appear:  NOT ACCEPTED DURING LOGON ENTER LOGON OR LOGOFF.  Ignore this message, type LOGOFF and press the enter key.​

If your session becomes 'locked-up', use your ATTN key to jump back to the SCO menu and then press the PF12 key to LOGOFF.  Alternately, you can call the Office of Technology Services' Gold Camp Campus Help Desk and ask to have your TSO session cancelled.
