When Is the PY file Emptied?

The PY file for the current business month is generally emptied after 6:00 PM before the last working day of the calendar month, and remains empty until the first payroll cycle of the subsequent month is processed.  

• If you create a PY file on the last working day by selecting cycle dates for the current business month, your file may be empty.  
• If the current month PY file is empty, you can still access the data by selecting the PH file for the prior business month, or by creating a PY extract file for the current and prior 36 business months.  ​
